We never really ‘brag’ about ourselves…we leave that to our patients! Their words are a testament to the success of our labors and speak more profoundly than anything we could say. They do such a wonderful job of sharing their Smile Builders experiences with us that we wanted to share them with you:
"About four years ago, we chose to try a pediatric dentist when it became clear that our five year old daughter was not interested in opening her mouth for our “regular dentist”.
The experience was like night and day. Our hesitant, reluctant daughter now became a perfect advertisement for Dr. Weisberg and Dr. Simchi (even after unfortunately, needing a tooth extracted and having needed some fillings). My daughter would count down the months and days until she could go back to the dentist! She even helped her younger siblings get over their fears and concerns.
The office staff only enhances the overall experience in the office with their kind, courteous, and encouraging manner (to kids and parents alike). Additionally, the chart system to encourage twice daily brushing and once daily flossing has improved not only our children’s hygiene but their attitude as well!
I believe the gentle and respectful manner in which both Dr.Weisberg and Dr. Simchi relate to their patients (and parents!) helps to allay fears, hesitations and concerns. The positive, nurturing way in which this is done is truly a gift and very much appreciated!"
“Dr. Simchi, all of them, bees careful. Dr. Simchi doesn’t even hurt me”
“I like that they’re so friendly and nice. And they are very good for children if it’s their first time and they tell you “if anything hurts, tell me”, and things like that.”
“They’re really nice- (I like) that they’re really careful. Like, Dr. Simchi, he says, the first time you would come there, he’d say “Raise your hand if anything hurts and if it does then we can see if I can do it in a way that it doesn’t hurt.”
"A child's desire to return to an activity is usually a pretty good indication of how much they enjoyed themselves. It's easy to picture a children racing to the car in anticipation of a visit their favorite park or restaurant. It's not hard to imagine little ones waiting impatiently by the door to go on a play date or to the toy store. These activities and locations are treasured by most children.
In my house there is another very unusual location that has reached the status of amusement park or toy store. Believe it or not the place my children LOVE to go is the dentist! This astonishing fact first became a reality soon after my children began seeing a terrific team of pediatric dentists, Dr. Michael Weisberg and Dr. Ayal Simchi at their "Smilebuilders" office in Monsey. It was the first morning of a short vacation from school and I asked my children (three girls ages 7, 4 and 2) where they would like to go that day. Fully expecting to hear the complete gamut of responses from amusement park to lazer tag, they asked (shocking their mother!), "Can we go to the dentists' office today?" I kid you not! This is a true story!
Anyone who has experienced the Smilebuilders office knows that they have found somewhere very special. Every detail of the office and all that takes place within its caring walls has been thought out and successfully geared towards the comfort of young children experiencing dental care. The decor is beautiful, welcoming, and calming. The waiting area allows children to take their mind off any potential worries they might have about their visit with games, books, and videos. In fact, I usually have trouble getting my kids to leave the waiting area after the visit! The examining area and procedure room are complete with everything necessary to make children feel totally comfortable and even have a great time during their cleaning or more involved procedure. This unique atmosphere of calm, comfort, and fun is also reflected by each and every member of the staff. The office staff and hygienists greet each child warmly by name, warmly and are always ready to help with anything! Dr. Weisberg and Dr. Simchi are extremely talented, not only in their ability to provide excellent dental care, but in their ability to relate to each child personally. Magic tricks, jokes, stories, and prizes galore are all part of any visit with Dr. Weisberg and Dr. Simchi. Children don't just take home healthy teeth and knowledge of good dental hygiene, but also feelings of security and self confidence.
I will leave you with one last story (also complete true!) which illustrates the special experiences we have had at Smilebuilders. When we first began coming to the office, one of my daughters had to have a root canal. 1, being a typical mother, was worried how she would do, what her experience would be, about how much it would hurt. After the procedure ended, I was waiting with open arms, completely ready to comfort my poor daughter after her "ordeal." After all, even in the greatest office, how great can a root canal be? As we walked out the door she looked up at me, her lips still a bit drooly from the Novocain, gauze still placed strategically in the corner of her mouth, and asked "Mommy, can we please come back tomorrow?"
