Pediatric Dentistry

Dr. Michael Weisberg and his team are pediatric dentists at Smile Builders in Monroe. A pediatric dentist not only attends four years of dental school but also completes two to three years of special training in dentistry for infants, children, teens, and children with special needs. They are dedicated to the oral health of children, caring for their teeth, gums, and mouth through the many stages of childhood.

Children are not always patient and cooperative for a dental exam. A pediatric dentist knows how to examine and treat children in a way that will make them comfortable. They also have specially designed equipment for children.

A child’s first dental appointment should be sometime within six months after the first tooth erupts or before their first birthday. Children start to lose their baby teeth at about 6 or 7 years of age. These baby teeth will be replaced by their adult (permanent) teeth soon after. Providing proper dental care to your children during their formative years will avoid what could be a lifetime of complications or even pain.

Smile Builders offers comprehensive dental care for your children – from routine checkups, cleanings, x-rays, sealants, space maintainers, sedation, and emergencies.
